Diwali – The Festival of Light
Diwali, also called Deepavali, is one of the most joyful and colourful festivals celebrated in India. The word Deepavali means “a row of lamps,” and the festival truly lives up to its name. Homes, streets, and temples glow with earthen lamps, candles, and decorative lights that spread warmth and happiness everywhere.
This festival marks the victory of light over darkness and good over evil. People clean and decorate their houses, draw rangoli at the entrance, and wear new clothes to welcome positivity into their lives. Families come together to offer prayers, share sweets, and enjoy beautiful fireworks.
Diwali is also a time for giving and sharing. Many people gift sweets, dresses, and goodies to their loved ones, neighbours, and those in need. It strengthens relationships and creates a feeling of togetherness.
Beyond the celebration, Diwali reminds us to remove negativity from our hearts and fill our lives with hope, kindness, and wisdom—just like the lamps that brighten the night.
May this Diwali bring peace, prosperity, and happiness to everyone!
